Spoken Without Sound Art Exhibit at The Palette & The Page

Free“Spoken Without Sound” will feature the collaborative work of ceramicist, Susan O’Hanlon and wire artist, Lynn Strano-Whitt in the Special Exhibit Gallery at The Palette & The Page from November 2nd through November 27th. Meet the artists, the authors, Christine Burke and Christopher Malone, who will be signing their books, enjoy the show, and live music during the Downtown Elkton Art Loop, Friday, November 5th, 5pm-8pm.
On Friday, November 5th, the First Friday Event at The Palette & The Page Gallery will present the collaborative work of Susan O’Hanlon and Lynn Strano-Whitt in the Special Exhibit Gallery Show “Spoken Without Sound.” The two women have been collaborating remotely during Covid in their respective mediums of ceramics and wire work The Opening Reception is from 5pm-8pm and will have live music and light refreshments. You will have the opportunity to meet both artists. We also welcome authors Christine Burke and Christopher Malone who will be signing their books. The show will be in the Special Exhibit Gallery through Saturday, November 27th.
Ceramicist Susan O’Hanlon is a full-time Studio Potter living, working and teaching in Downingtown, PA. She is elbow deep in love with all things clay, and she makes both functional and decorative pieces purposefully designed and exquisitely handcrafted to artistically blend form, function and aesthetics. Currently, she is working to develop some complex surface decorating techniques while exploring the realm of atmospheric and outdoor firings.
Lynn Strano-Whitt is a jewelry and textile artist who resides in Newark, DE with her husband and two children. Lampwork glass beads, natural stones, crystals, various types of pearls, millefiori beads, polymer clay, porcelain and terra cotta clay, and paste paper are just some of the materials she has used in her jewelry making, although she always returns to her first love, copper wire.
Lynn and Susan have created some interestingly unique items combining the respective talents!

Christine is author and illustrator of A Dream Inside, a children’s book about the lifecycle of the monarch butterfly. She has a story published in Chicken Soup for the Soul – Reboot Your Life and she has also written a book titled The Well-Nourished Artist: 8 Ways to Feed Your Creative Soul. Christine loves nature and trees and is currently working on a second children’s book called Windy and the Witness Tree.
Christopher L. Malone is a writer, musician, teacher, and life-long resident of Cecil County. His stories span nearly every genre, and his short works have been featured in Crimson Streets Magazine, The Dark City Crime and Mystery Magazine, and The Literary Hatchet. His first novel, Hangdog, was released in October of 2017. His second novel, Harold in the Name of Love, was released in early 2019. He is currently working on his next book.
We welcome back musician, John Palombo for the Opening Reception on November 5th.
The Event is FREE. We are requesting that folks mask up when not eating or drinking.
The exhibit in the Gallery is from Tuesday, November 2nd through Saturday, November 27th and can be found virtually on our website beginning November 22nd through December 31st.
Our regular hours, other than First Friday’s, are Tuesday through Saturday 12pm-6pm.
